We are going to Gull Lake for the first time on May 12th. Just wondering what is the prefered method on this lake? We have always gone to Mille Lacs and that is alot of bobbers and lindys. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the site, CDS33...

You're going to have to narrow down which Gull Lake you are talking about. I believe there are 6 or 7 of them... Gull Lake by Brainerd is probably the best known.

Hey CDS33,

Welcome to My Fishing Pals. Glad to have you aboard!

I used to fish that lake quite often, but mostly for bucketmouths. I have gone walleye fishing there too, though. I usually used orange or lime green jigheads tipped with leeches. I have found the fishing there is better at night then the day. Woodtic and I used to work nights at a couple of resorts up there and after work we would spend the night fishing. During the day, we would fish for bass and nights for 'eyes. As for locations, I would be at a loss on that. We typically were taken out by locals and to tell you the truth, especially at night, I had no idea where we were... sorry. Maybe Ice will chime in... he used to guide up in that area.

That will help.If you were going with locals and they were using a jig and leech then i can go from there. I have fished it quite a bit for bass also just don't do much walleye fishing. Not very confident in how to catch the eyes yet. Just read my first post. I meant to say first time going there on opener for Walleye. Thanks for the reply every little bit of info helps.
