Newby here! Been fishing since 1956 and most of that time on Lake Osakis where my cabin is located. Started fishing Osakis in 1968 when you could take 30 sunfish in your daily limit and we did! Alot of those bluegills were 3/4 to 1lb. And it would take us 2 hours to scale and clean them. Then go out again the next day and do the same. Not the case now, but still a great sunfish lake! Love walleye fishing too! I currently have a walleye and a 10"+ blugill in the taxidermy from Osakis getting mounted! Now I have to work to get the money!
Hi.. And Welcome..Fish Tales Also Welcomed.. I Too remember the Good " Ol " Days On That Lake And The Surrounding Areas.. Still There But Not The Numbers .. Our Dad Used To take Us Up There .. Me And My Two younger Brothers .. Mostly IceFishing .. Over The years .. Technological Advances .. Fishing Preasure .. Greed .. And Perhaps Lack Of Selective Harvesting .. Lakes That Have A Five Fish Limit Seem To Be Working ..Anyways That Is A Differant Direction .. Have Fun And Tell Some " Tales "..
If you've got short, stubby fingers and wear reading glasses, any relaxation you would normally derive from fly fishing is completely eliminated when you try to tie on a fly. ~ Jack Ohman, Fear of Fly Fishing, 1988
