As a kid I rember going out with my dad in his homade wooden fishing boat. Ducking down as we fly fished He never once hooked me. Last winter I decided to try tying flies. I found I had just as good luck with the flies as I did with store bought jigs. I am now thinking of trying to learn fly fishing. I have his old rod from the 40s hanging on my wall. I think its time to get my own fly rod and give it a shot.
You can get a nice starter fly rod at cabelas, start in your price range and save for what ya want if you like it, I just started northern and bass fishing with the fly rod in the last couple years, man what a blast.
Even eminent chartered accountants are known, in their capacity as fishermen, blissfully to ignore differences between seven and ten inches, half a pound and two pounds, three fish and a dozen fish. ~ William Sherwood Fox, Silken Lines and Silver Hooks, 1954
