Big Lake, MN In the interest of safety, tournament organizers have cancelled the ice fishing contest on Big Lake.
Officials have determined that ice conditions are close, but not quite enough to host the event on Feb. 25th since the 4‐6 day forecast is unlikely to produce enough ice to obtain safe conditions. Safety of the participants is the number one concern.
Sherburne County Water Patrol will be placing additional restrictions on the lake with regard to traffic, ice houses, and access.
Ticket holders for the 2012 event can rest assured, their tickets will be honored at the 2013 contest. Contest officials plan to meet and provide additional information as soon as possible. Go to www.littleholeonbiglake.org for the most up to date information.
If you've got short, stubby fingers and wear reading glasses, any relaxation you would normally derive from fly fishing is completely eliminated when you try to tie on a fly. ~ Jack Ohman, Fear of Fly Fishing, 1988
