With the recent heat wave I was wondering if anyone had any ice reports?

I am looking more so for Carls or Cedar. I have family coming and I want to get on a place I can fish. I jsut don't want to haul everyone if its not going to be safe.

I was out on Cedar a couple of days ago and the crappies were biting pretty good, though there wasn't much size to them, largest being a ten incher. We did manage to keep a limit, though it took a lot of fishing to get them. We started hopping around drilling trying to find them and found a bunch suspended at various depths. We pretty much used jigs and minnows. Most of what we caught were about four feet down. Ice seemed okay, there were a bunch of people walking it. You might want to try Prior too... I heard the sunnies are really biting over there.

2 folks in a Ford Escape went for a swim in a little lake around the corner from my place in Eagan last week. Luckily, they didn't get far and fell through when it was still less than 3' deep.

We went to cedar and had fun with the kids. the ice varied from 5-8 inches where we fished. The best part was the young ones could watch the crappies bite 6inches to 12 inches under the ice. They had a great time.
