12-28 through12-30, 2 guys 40 walleye, slow most of the time with a 3 hour window thursday that was hot. started in 8 ft. and went to 12 for an improvement. Plenty of ice on the east side with 14-16 inches gave us a safe drive on with the wheelhouse. A few 10 inch perch and one 28 inch northern. The highlight was a 27"walley at 230 pm just before we left. Would have caught alot more but we lost just as many as we caught. We couldn't pinpoint a best time of day for the bite, weather was shifting constantly, but day was more productive. Sooooo worth the trip, no worries of ice conditions and fish to eat.
If you've got short, stubby fingers and wear reading glasses, any relaxation you would normally derive from fly fishing is completely eliminated when you try to tie on a fly. ~ Jack Ohman, Fear of Fly Fishing, 1988
