We caught a lot of fish on Sunday, about 45 in all, on the west side. We ended up with just 4 keepers and 6 very nice 'eyes that were in the 25" range. Most of what we caught were pretty small, though. In fact it was pretty nutty with the small stuff for a couple of hours before sunset. Lots of activity on the flasher.
You got to be careful out there though... lots of moving ice and open water. I heard there have been a bunch of rescues going on because of people getting stranded. Hopefully in a week or two we'll get some good solid ice. Kind of freaky walking on clear smooth hardwater and being able to see the fish down there. Gave me the willies

People who fish for food, and sport be damned, are called pot-fishermen. The more expert ones are called crack pot-fishermen. All other fishermen are called crackpot fishermen. This is confusing. ~ Ed Zern, 1947
