Just wondering how the ice is holding up in the area lakes. Mainly North/South Center and Green. Anyone been out there yet or seen folks venturing out on these lakes yet? Been getting the itch to get and wet a line and check to see if my gear still works. Looking to be out there this weekend. If anyone has info it would be great. Otherwise I can report back. Thanks.
The channel has 6-7 inches, as well as most of the the bays in the area. Fishing has been pretty good, stop by Frankies Bait and they will show you where the ice is "bad". You can get out on the main lakes but need to be careful and walking only is advised out there.
went out to see how conditons were today and found pretty consistent ice out there. roughly 8-9in lots of ice making out there. lots of cracking and booming. saw one small permie out on the eastside about 200 yds out and a small village of porties out to the left from the launch back by the bay. few guys were out on atvs.
as far as fishing we did ok. we were set up in about 30 fow and found crappies roaming. vex would be black and then light up like a xmas tree and all lines would go. nothing huge to brag home about but sure was nice to be out for a while.
