On the East shore of Upper Red Lake we have anywhere from 5 - 6 1/2" of ice. I've been out fishing the last week and a half and fishing has been great. Anywhere from 6-9 Ft of water has been kicking out fish at a pretty steady pace. Jigging spoons such as buckshots, flyers and macho minnows have all been doing real well. With no snow on the ice and the cool temps we are making ice fast. Can't wait until we get our permanent houses out, it's going to be a great year for fishing.
People who fish for food, and sport be damned, are called pot-fishermen. The more expert ones are called crack pot-fishermen. All other fishermen are called crackpot fishermen. This is confusing. ~ Ed Zern, 1947
