In gilbert, Mn...there is a lake and the lake is stocked.....Now im a novice fisherman(started this summer) And all this summer me and my friend have only caught 5 small mouth (biggest was 3.5lb) i need some lure suggestions.
(I have been using berkly powerbait, gulp, a rapala, and a shimono rod and reel combo set.)
Any suggestions for lures or any method any one here uses?

everyone will have their suggestions but I would suggest reed runner tandem blade spinner baits
such as
who knows.. you could hit upon some feeding pike (aka Northern) when throwing them in the weedlines

Texas rigged (weedless) tube baits 3-4 inch size rigged with a "worm hook" real small bullet(football) shaped weight, if any weight at all worked slow (or a 1/16 - 1/8 oz jig with the tube instead of hook and weight....)

In the next week or so(maybe 2 weeks?).. the Bass turn on to crankbaits because the temperature is dropping and they're getting ready to feed heavy b4 winter comes. Especially Rat-L traps and Rapala shad raps in places where you can cast them without snagging on rocks and large logs. Once you find the crankbait bite starting you could find schooling bass like I did at one point last labor day weekend.. 9 casts.. 9 smallmouth from the river.. a few in the 3lb + range

just a couple ideas

Go on the Internet and see how to rig plastic baits "Texas" style. Once you do it a few times, it's pretty easy. If you use a big, heavy bait, like a 6" Senko worm, you don't even need to add a weight. It's weedless and casts easy. It's a great bass bait. But make sure you let it sink when it first hits the water. You'll get a lot of strikes on that first fall.

in addition to what mdtolic said learn how to skip cast and on bright sunny days skip wacky or weedless rigged senkos under docks.
learn about jig and pig combos for largemouth you can pretty much fish them anywhere flip them around fallen trees or on milfoil patches.
for smallies use a smaller jig and no pig trailer and fish deep rock piles.
