I looked up the dnr info on this lake. No wonder you are having trouble with the walleye and crappie. Their numbers are very low. And with the very high numbers of pike and bass, things don't look good for the near future either. Sometimes it's more fun to go with the flow and enjoy catching what is likely to be biting. This is clearly a lake that has a lot of pike, bass, and sunfish. If you catch anything else I would consider it a bonus. I wish I had better info, but the dnr nets are pretty good at painting a picture.

Even eminent chartered accountants are known, in their capacity as fishermen, blissfully to ignore differences between seven and ten inches, half a pound and two pounds, three fish and a dozen fish. ~ William Sherwood Fox, Silken Lines and Silver Hooks, 1954
