Fished off the boat dock at the lake minnetonka regional park yesterday. Wasn't very lively except for a couple funny incidents.
Mainly fishing for crappie's and bass. We were using crappie minnows and medium leeches.
I took my socks off to dip my feet in the lake and the wind blew a sock into the lake and it was about 4 feet deep by the time I saw it. Tried to fish it out with my fishing rod. As my girlfriend was reaching out to grab the sock about 6 inches from the dock and 6 inches deep, a monstrous fish (to me) jumped up and ate my sock! I just caught a glimpse of it, not sure what but it was definitely over half the length of my 6' rod.
Thirty minutes later, my sister starts reeling in a huge fish on a #4 hook and minnow. I was busy on the phone with a loan officer so I was trying to one handedly net the fish. By the time I put my phone down and reached in...line tore on the dock and it was gone. Looked to be the same fish. I would guess it to be a pike that got away.
Other than that, caught a couple bass and plenty of perch.
