Spent last week at our favorite little lake by Ore. There was a huge mayfly hatch that was finishing up, so the bite was pretty slow, but we did pretty good anyway. The eye's were tough to come by because they love those mayfly's, but the jumbo's and northern's were fun. My son did manage to hook one of the monster eye's again, but it cut the line not far into the fight. We caught our own minnows and used them primarily. Some perch were caught on waxies and a jig.
Go ahead Webdude, but please don't use my wives pic. She doesn't even know it's on here. You know the bit, a girl has been camping in a tent for 5 days and then gets her picture taken.....and her husband puts it on the internet....I'll be in big trouble if she stumbles upon it...even though I like it, i'm sure she won't. I think my dads pic look great!
Even eminent chartered accountants are known, in their capacity as fishermen, blissfully to ignore differences between seven and ten inches, half a pound and two pounds, three fish and a dozen fish. ~ William Sherwood Fox, Silken Lines and Silver Hooks, 1954
