I was up the first weekend in June on Brule lake, I posted a report awhile back. Here is a summary of my report
Weather: amazing Fishing: Poor Bugs: Horrendous
But of course it was still a great time. I should post a few pictures but haven't gotten around to it yet.
I've heard the fishing has picked up a lot since i was there. The walleye looked like they hadn't been done spawning for long and the smallies were still full of eggs. The mayfly hatch was starting to get underway while we were there and it really affected the fishing.
I am working on planning another trip for mid August with the wife. Its the first time we've gone together so it should be interesting. I'm looking for short (4 day) trip suggestions that have easy portages if anyone has a recommendation.

People who fish for food, and sport be damned, are called pot-fishermen. The more expert ones are called crack pot-fishermen. All other fishermen are called crackpot fishermen. This is confusing. ~ Ed Zern, 1947
