OK, I'm new here and hoping for some insight. Is there any news on the walleye fishing on Lake Vemillion - especially on the west end. We are headed there next week. Haven't been there for years and my last experience was three days and almost no fish. Any change? Thanks
If I were you, I would try to get out to the East end. It seems the bite has been getting better, at least better then the opener. Walleyes have been starting to group together and hanging in different transition points between bottom changes (rock to sand, sand to mud, etc.). Try fishing a bit on the deep side... over 20 feet down to 40. Plain hook with fatheads seems to be working well.
Haven't heard much reported on the West side... I'll see if I can dig up some info for you.
