I found this thing stuck to a cedar tree I cut down. Any ideas cause I got no clue. Its about as big as a quarter and slimey. I'm thinking some sort of slug but I've been outdoors more then indoors my whole life and never seen anything like this.

It's called a cedar apple rust gall, it's a fungus! I looked it up online, googled it.

"Both cedar-apple and cedar-hawthorn rusts produce reddish-brown galls on the twigs of junipers. These woody galls usually are ½ to 2 inches in diameter. In early April, galls swell and produce orange, one-inch long, gelatinous tendrils"

That's some find!

Thanks guys

It was a pretty amazing little spore. I tried to preserve it but it dried out and didn't look nearly as cool. At least I got a few pics.
