On the way to the lakes around the Forest Lake and Chisago area, Tap Tap Tap and I decided to make a few calls to a friend that lives in that area to see what lakes would be good for fishing. I don't know if he was joking or not, but he said, "If you want to catch large fish, go to Green Lake."
Well... we caught around 200 fish. Everything was very small. Maybe we could have kept about 7 crappies and a couple of Sunnies, but we couldn't keep the small stuff off the hook. Even with minnows. Caught some bass too. We thought we were going to a good walleye lake (there's a slot limit up there), but it was ridiculous. Lots and lots of small stuff.
I asked Tap Tap Tap if he would ever go back there. Of course his answer was not for a few years. Wait for those little ones to grow up.
People who fish for food, and sport be damned, are called pot-fishermen. The more expert ones are called crack pot-fishermen. All other fishermen are called crackpot fishermen. This is confusing. ~ Ed Zern, 1947
