I have a friend that wants to go up to Duluth and ice fish this winter. He has done it a few times, but this is not "guide" situation. I am curious about what it would be like, but apprehensive. There is a part of me that is scared, and the other part says, you will not know what to do. I know there are lots of things in the lake, but don't know what to expect, or to expect anything to happen at all. Any thoughts? Are there lots of people out there fishing? Is is "Safe"?

People who fish for food, and sport be damned, are called pot-fishermen. The more expert ones are called crack pot-fishermen. All other fishermen are called crackpot fishermen. This is confusing. ~ Ed Zern, 1947
