When does the annual shiner run take place?
Does the shiner run depend upon water temperatures?
Is the "bite better during the fall shiner run and moon phase?

Thanks! smile smiley

Some shiners are showing up in Four Mile Bay and Rainy River but the big run hasn't started just yet. Usually it hits in late September but up there they have been experiencing warm temperatures, above normal, which has kept the water temperature at around the mid-fifties. Next week you'll start to see the weather cool again and this should start getting the shiners to start moving.

Made it back safely..
hey the water temps on the river were at 48 degrees the area we were fishing was a bit on the slow side but kept ya entertained.
the shiners were hard to come by as the nets were holding pin sized shiners.
the current is a non issue. easy fishing..
We'll be back up on the week\weekend of deer season. listening to the bullets flying. smile smiley
