Who would you believe: Ron Schara, Dennis Anderson, Chris Niskanen, Outdoor News, and virtually every MN outdoor organization--or Congresswoman Michele Bachmann? I think the answer to that is easy once you read how Bachmann claimed she SUPPORTED the wildly popular Legacy Amendment in 2008 in order to sucker hunters and anglers into voting for her in the 6th District, and now says she OPPOSED the Legacy Amendment, which got 30,000 more votes in the 6th District than she did. What else has Bachmann lied to you about? Plenty, but this should be enough to vote for someone else. Her opponent, Tarryl Clark, SUPPORTED the Legacy Amendment in 2008 and voted to put it on the ballot, and then she voted for it at the ballot box.

Don't take my word for it--go read the article. It leaves no doubt that Michele Bachmann lied through her teeth and played sportsmen for suckers in 2008, and she's still lying through her teeth. Come on, sportsmen, don't be played for suckers again. It's time to get this liar out of Congress. She is NOT one of us! mad smiley

I think you folks know how I feel about this. It started years ago with the lottery and still the soap opera continues. There never should have been a fund in the first place. It is a bad piece of legislation that pulls at our heartstrings just to give the Government (with a capital "G") more of our money. Who cares who supported it. We will all get the shaft in the long run.

From a previous post...

I really, REALLY hate to say this, but I told you so! The first year and we are already having problems and bickering with how this money is going to be spent. You see, when it comes to money, and lots of it, these stupid legislators cannot keep their dirty fingers out of the cookie jar! (sorry cookie).

Because of the state’s continuing budget crisis, you just had to know that there was going to be attempts on diverting the Legacy amendment dollars. Take for instance Rep. Tom Rukavina, DFL of Virginia... he is indicating that he wants to use the money for projects that stimulate the Minnesota economy.

And what's up with Rep. Jean Wagenius, DFL of Minneapolis? She is defendeding the Legislature's 11th-hour redefinition last year of just what "restore, protect and enhance" habitat for fish, game and wildlife means. And why was this in the 11th hour? Because our great and noble legislators didn't want the public to know what was going on behind the scenes. Both Wagenius and others in our fine Minnesota House, including Rep. Mary Murphy, DFL of Hermantown claim "protect," can be interpreted to include educating people about the need for clean water. WE ALL KNOW THAT WE NEED CLEAN WATER, you idiots! Why divert the funds to education! Folks, all the education in the world is not going to be directly beneficial to fish, game and wildlife. What we need is for the money to go where it's supposed to go.

We need to vote these people out of office. Did you know that when hunters and anglers were fighting to get this legislation on the ballot, Mary Murphy sat on the sidelines and did absolutely nothing? Not only that, she opposed the amendment! AND Jean Wagenius has absolutely no support among wildlife and conservation groups for the language definitions she is proposing we adopt. EVEN the Department of Natural Resources disagrees with the rewriting of the definitions and the overall attempt to change the intent of the amendment. And get this... Murphy has established a committee which has almost completed a "legislative guide" to Outdoor Heritage Fund expenditures. WHAT?!?!?! She could care less about what we, the people want!

PEOPLE - We, the voters passed this constitutional amendment to ensure that we would have the funds to protect and clean up our lakes, rivers, streams and the great outdoors. This money should be used as voters intended... to expand and enhance these efforts. But no... now the money is there, kept in a drawer, and it is irking these legislators that they can't just use the money as they see fit. It's the 'ol bait and switch con. Get the people to vote on something they want, and switch it to something they don't want. This all started with the lottery, and I warned you. I voted against this amendment because our fine legislators think we are forgetful. The amendment was sold as the panacea that would fund natural resources... exactly as the lottery was sold to us. REMEMBER the lottery... fewer then 12 cents goes to natural resources because the legislature began making changes in it almost before the first ticket was sold. NOW the exact same thing is happening with the legacy fund.

When will this ever end?

This is Bachmann ineptly going all in with the anti-tax Tea Party crowd. How stupid and incompetent does she have to be to provoke Ron Schara and other sportsmen and media publications in Minnesota into publicly calling her a liar a month and a half before an election?

Maybe she wants to lose so she can start cashing in on her celebrity. She could give speeches at tea-bagger rallies and try to ride a grassroots swell into the White House.

Palin/Bachmann 2012

Be funny if the Dems hang onto the House because Bachmann gave her seat away.

I'm also very unimpressed with our options this year. I say we pull a Jesse vote and send another message to the left and right to get their %$@# together.

This isn't a post about the merits of the Legacy Amendment. It's a post about a sitting member of Congress lying through her teeth about supporting something two year ago in order to sucker sportsment into voting for her, and then two years later, claiming she NEVER supported the measure because it raised taxes. This is a post about M

You mean a politician lied to the people? I don't think that's ever happened before. smile smiley

I'm just glad to know that is not just Florida that has gasbag liars in Congress and other offices. I am not standing up for this woman, who it appears didn't just lie but blatantly and boldly misrepresented the truth, but I bet that if I had the time I could find something that just about every windbag politician said that I could turn against some current position they are taking. I don't believe a word any of them say anymore. And its pretty sad that I don't believe the morons that "We the People" voted into office.

There are 5 kinds of lies: lies, damned lies, statistics, politicians quoting statistics, and the press quoting politicians on statistics. Even the meaning of politics shows that "poli" a Latin word meaning "many"; and "tics" means "bloodsucking creatures." This is what the true meaning of a political type person is. Politicians are like diapers. They both need changing regularly and for the same reason. Even today's political language can be scrutinized...it is designed to make lies sound truthful and murder respectable, and to give an appearance of solidity to pure wind. It's too bad that ninety percent of the politicians give the other ten percent a bad reputation. The problem is that it's the short memories of American voters that keeps our politicians in office. And another problem is that bad politicians are sent to Washington by good people who don't vote... so get out and vote! Why? Because what this country needs are more unemployed politicians, that's why! Unfortunately, what we have now is politicians who, when they see light at the end of the tunnel, go out and buy some more tunnel. It's because of this that I have come to the conclusion that politics are too serious a matter to be left to the politicians. America is the country that shows how all the written guarantees in the world for freedom are no protection against tyranny and oppression of the worst kind. Here the politician has come to be looked upon as the very scum of society.

You might think all politicians lie, but no one lies on the grand scale that Michele Bachmann lies. This Pulitzer Prize-winning nwespaper fact-checks the statements of ALL politicians, and Michele Bachmann has scored an unprecedented 0-11. Of 11 statements made by by Bachmann, 11 were found to be lies:

http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/article/2010/sep/21/bachmann-and-truth-o-meter-collected-works/

If we add her Big Lie to Minnesota sportsmen--that she claims to have supported the Legacy Amendment in 2008--make that 0-12. Vote for anyone but Bachmann if you live in the 6th.

i want to start off by saying i don't support either candidate in this race... however, if you are going to say that one is a flat out liar and such... i see what you are saying about Bachman.

now look at the garbage being put out by the other candidates. KSTP took time to break down the ad on television by CLARK and has shown the falsifications of her own.

http://kstp.com/news/stories/S1768343.shtml?cat=1

like i have said, i don't support either of them. but if one is willing to completely lie to gain support the other way... how can you trust them either?

"We've had it with Tarryl Clark. She's running such a negative campaign."

Bachmann's latest ad is classic example of Goebbel's infamous mirror technique. Anyone here heard even one Bachmann ad touting her accomplishment(s)? Every Bachmann ad I've heard from the start has been a negative attack on Clark and now she's attacking Clark for running "such a negative campaign."

Shamelessness has been a defining characteristic of modern conservatism since Reagan sleazed his way into the presidency but it still amazes me people can hear this kind of crap and still take her seriously.

How stupid do you have to be to still be a Bachmann supporter? The only explanation I can come up with is that good-looking conservative women are such a rarity that they're immediately heralded by the party faithful. Qualifications, schmalifications - she's good-looking and that's enough.
