Just curious how everyone's weekend was fishing. Spent all of my time on minnetonka with a 50/50 mix of musky and walleye fishing. I started off good. Both bass and walleyes were hitting on thurs and friday - live bait rigs on the weed edges and break lines (maybe 1/2 dozen of each both days in 3 hours or so). Slowed down on saturday, but i spent some time casting muskies and got a pike and 40" musky. However, it shut off like a light on sunday. I got only a couple very small walleyes and bluegills on sunday(fished from 6am-10am) and a pike and bluegills on monday (again from 6am-10am).
I threw the sink at them on monday ... trolled sunken rock piles in 18-28ft ... nothing ... trolled the weed edges with cranks and live bait rigs ... nothing. speed trolled for pike (i know its more of a night thing, but i was getting skunked) ... one pike. and cast up in the shallows and inside weed lines for muskies ... again nothing. oh well, it was better than working today
i have fished sugar in wright co, mitchell;eagle;birch in sherburne co and belle taine;eleventh crow in some county north of where i am and fishing has really went down hill the last three weeks. i have tried fishing for EVERY fish species in this state, even carp and i have no good reports of getting anywhere close to limits.
fishing really turned off for me - - -

People who fish for food, and sport be damned, are called pot-fishermen. The more expert ones are called crack pot-fishermen. All other fishermen are called crackpot fishermen. This is confusing. ~ Ed Zern, 1947
