Went out for a few hours Sunday afternoon. Was on the water around 2pm and fished the north side of Lake #2 ... northerns were hitting hard! I kept 3 nice ones for tacos this week (yummm) and threw back almost a dozen hammer-handles.
Highlight was a Muskie! At first I though I'd hooked a clump of weed it just sat there as I pulled it in. Got it close enough for a look at it... 3ft+ easy... then it took off, stripped a bunch of line then bit off the lure! Oh well...my fault for not using a leader but a thrill none-the-less!
All were caught in 6-10ft water with a shallow diving rattle-rap slowly worked across the weed tops.
thanks for the report! yummmmmmm, fish tacos!!!! i havent had those for ever. we had the same thing happen to us this saturday, my grandpa and i were fishing for bass in like 4 ft of water with a zara spook and a big muskie came up and bit him right off! it sure was exciting though!!!!
People who fish for food, and sport be damned, are called pot-fishermen. The more expert ones are called crack pot-fishermen. All other fishermen are called crackpot fishermen. This is confusing. ~ Ed Zern, 1947
