Tough bite this weekend in between the sprinkles. Caught about 14 'eyes on Saturday fishing very shallow - 2 to 5 feet. Everything was small. Had to find rock bottoms and used leeches. Fatheads only produced snakes. We tried all drop-offs, but the fish seemed to want to hug the shallows on the north end of the islands. We had 2 in the well, but they were questionable. On Sunday, I got skunked... very rare for me Did get a nice bite in the Narrows, but it sure felt like a Northern. We tried everywhere, the river, Pier, Big Lake rock pile, Battle Island, Aitkin, Aitkin flowage, the drop to Bill Horn, wherever... a very tough bite.
People who fish for food, and sport be damned, are called pot-fishermen. The more expert ones are called crack pot-fishermen. All other fishermen are called crackpot fishermen. This is confusing. ~ Ed Zern, 1947
