The fishing on Mille Lacs has been a bit better then average the past week or so... all you have to do is find them. Rely on your electronics to locate them then throw down a leech or spinners with crawlers. Shallower spots with rocks have been doing very well. Morning bite has been good down to 25 feet. Places that have been doing well include the rocks at the edge of Sherman Point along with the flats in that area. Also reports from Agate Bay show fish being produced on the gravel and rocks - the fish being suspended from as deep as 25 feet.
Hope this helps and send us a report when you get back!
Well made it home from Mille Lacs. Wish I had a good news to report. We chose a bad weather weekend to be on the lake. Windy and spotty rain both Fri and Sat. Stayed at Eddy's so we fished mainly the SW end. Which was where all the wind was blowing into. Too many different systems rolling through which really turned off the fish. Thought maybe we were doing something wrong but all the launches were coming back in with only 1 or 2 fish. Didn't feel so bad when 10-15 people were only bring back on or two fish. We did hear that one of the launches went about three mile east on Friday and really "killed" them, but that was the only good report. Pulled the boat Sat afternoon and went over to the Grave Yard. Finally spotted a lot of fish on the electronics but still nothing was biting as another rain shower moved in. Kind of wish we would have head to the NE instead. Oh well, two days up north is far better than two days of work in IA. Looking forward to vacation in August.
