Well, we started around Agate Bay. It took a bit, but we finally found fish over 25 feet on the edges. Only thing that seemed to work were leeches on plain hook. We boated about 16 'eyes and kept only four. Largest was 25.5. Slots, like usual, kept us from keeping more. I saw very mixed results from people out for the day. Some were getting bites but having a tough time hooking fish. Others were having no problem landing a limit. Almost all said leeches were the ticket. Sure was nice weather and it was nice getting out on the water again.
Even eminent chartered accountants are known, in their capacity as fishermen, blissfully to ignore differences between seven and ten inches, half a pound and two pounds, three fish and a dozen fish. ~ William Sherwood Fox, Silken Lines and Silver Hooks, 1954
