Just moved back from being in Colorado for the last 10 years and I don't have a boat yet. Looking to do some Walleye fishing and I have heard that rivers are a good bet. Does anyone have any areas within a 2 hour drive that I should check out. Thanks in advance for your replies.
Oh, yah...the river's the ticket for big walleyes, especially Pool 2. Of course, it's all catch and release, but there are monsters in Pool 2. My biggest was just over 28", and caught in about 2 feet of water near the shoreline, fishing with a jig and minnow.
Go once with The Griz, and you'll learn all the secrets of fishing Pool 2 for walleyes. Guaranteed.
Even eminent chartered accountants are known, in their capacity as fishermen, blissfully to ignore differences between seven and ten inches, half a pound and two pounds, three fish and a dozen fish. ~ William Sherwood Fox, Silken Lines and Silver Hooks, 1954
