A quick fishing report from the Hibbing area. Finished getting the boat ready yesterday and headed out for crappies. Didnt know what to expect with the early spring. Water temp was 56-58 degrees near the surface of course, but didnt find any shallow crappies yet. We filled out with mostly male crappies 10-11 inches. Caught all the fish from 14-18ft deep and on the bottom. Used only small tube jigs. Fun trip with the weather being like summer and no wind for the first time this spring. I expect the crappies to start spawning by next week. They were already turning black. Gary smile smiley smile smiley
