So I have a small fishing boat with standard 5 gallon tank. Just your classic orange metal gas tank. I know it is getting sludge on the bottom, cuase when the gas gets low and I hit a big wave, the motor sucks it in and slow to a near stop, then tales off again after a moment. I need tips on how to clean out my gas tank.
Two things, best bet for me is an inline fuel filter, you can get them for around ten bucks at the local car parts store. Or you can get a nice one for a little more that stops water too. Thats just in case something does get in there your safe. Not sure of what kind of gunk your having but what worked for me was a dropping a couple of strong magnets in there. That only works if your gunk is magnetic though. Hope that helps.
