I said it a thousand times. Why can't these new smart phones be the next best tool for fishing? They have GPS capability, they are constantly contacted to the internet, they can do almost anything, oh and they fit in your pocket. Well... someone finally is on the ball.

Fishing Buddy is a new android application that allows mapping on your phone, one click to record your location and notes. But its even better than that; it'll automatically record Location ,Nearest City,Weather Conditions,Air Temps,Date/Times,Relative Humidity, moon Phase, atmospheric Pressure,Wind Direction and Wind Speed. Everytime you catch a fish you have all this data automatically recorded in your journal.
All of this is available for less than the cost of a fishing lure!

There are even more features but I think you get the idea. I think it's an awesome idea and as this technology advances it'll get even better.

That's pretty good Logan. Unfortunately, after losing a Treo overboard a few years ago, I don't take my smartphones on the water with me anymore. I just swap out my SIM card into an old flip phone. But if you did hcome out with a Win-Mobile version, I'd consider buying it.

By the way, I could add a spot so you get a text message on your cellphone after someone replies to a post... much like the email thing, only to your phone. Up to you folks if you want to implement something like that.

Logan, I've looked at this a few more times today. I have to say, you did a great job with this app. I really like the auto filled weather. Is there a Windows Mobile version in the works or not? I know it's not the most popular platform for developers.

WebDude, with email going to my handheld as easily as texts, I wouldn't need a TM service. However, there are a lot of folks who don't have email on their devices, so I hope they speak up if interested.

FishCat, wish I could take credit but I can't... All I did was google for a fishing app that could automatically record weather data and booya! someone had it...

I hope I wasn't making it sound like I wanted credit for the app blush smiley

I only posted it because I though it was cool. smile smiley smile smiley
