Actually thought it would be fun to try and get my son his first ice eye right in the city last sunday. Unfortunately we played with a mess of small perch in 16-25 fow and my neighbor got the only walleye on a tipup and shiner. Only 11 inches though. Not sure where we are going yet this weekend.
16 yrs old. started with him at about 2 years old. Trick is lots of goodies and the younger they are the less important the fishing is and the more important it is to just have fun. I also have a 19 yr old daughter in college I have to buy a fishing license for now. She will sit in the boat all day but during the winter we dont seem to have enough time on her break to get out or she would go.
With last submit. Keep them warm. If they get cold pack up and go. Usually does not happen if they are catching fish. Know some great kid lakes in the South metro if your interested. Lots of action but smaller pannies.

Even eminent chartered accountants are known, in their capacity as fishermen, blissfully to ignore differences between seven and ten inches, half a pound and two pounds, three fish and a dozen fish. ~ William Sherwood Fox, Silken Lines and Silver Hooks, 1954
