I've found a lake that has nice jumbos. I've really been having fun chasing them around but I notice these big females are full of eggs. I stopped taking them after my first batch and now I've just been catch and releasing.
Perch normally spawn sometime between April and May, typically when the water hits around 50 degrees, but they can start developing their eggs as early as January. The females will hold them until the water warms.
