Went out to Forest Lake with some buddies yesterday afternoon. We caught a ton of fish, however most were very small. We caught Crappies, Sunfish, Perch, Walleyes, and Northern. I caught my biggest pike through the ice this winter, it was around 6 pounds.

I also caught a really weird looking Crappie. It was barred or striped, can't say I've ever seen one like it.

Let me know what you think...

you have to like the temps we've been having... What kind of depths you fishing lately.

I've noticed a pattern change lately. Don't know if it's just late ice patterns or the recent warm temps.

All I know is that lots of my deeper fish have moved in closer to shallow water. We even caught a lot of nice ones in 5 ft of water, crappies and sunfish.

Been spending most of my time in like 12-14. Some lakes we fish shallow like 6-8. Yesterday on Forest we were fishing 13-14 the whole afternoon. It was so nice out!!

Wow strange crappie, kinda looks like a white one but I don't believe there is white crappie in forest lake.

Yeah, I just looked up pictures of white crappies, and it does look like one. I have never caught a white one before so I had no idea what they looked like. And then I went to a page about Forest Lake to see if it had Black and White crappies, and all it said was Crappie (didn't specify) so I'm not sure...

I think I know what that "barred" crappie is. Today we were fishing Martin lake and caught a few white crappies and also a large number of small perch. We also caught a few small crappies that looked exactly like that one. I'm thinking it is a cross breed white crappie and perch. Not sure but the theory is hard to argue.
