i was wondering how the fishing has been going down on Cedar. The local lakes for me are slowing down and i wanted to head to Cedar and maybe get some crappie and pike action.

any help or info on how the lake is doing would be helpful

Not sure on the pike. The crappies in in Cedar are mucho plentiful, unfortunately they are all 7-8"es. Great lake to keep the kids entertained on the crappies. If you go there take your limit of Crappies. If every one did, I believe they will start getting bigger if there are fewer.

do you know where on the lake and what depth they are biting on?
i am also looking for a lake that will keep my nieces entertained. and i am sure that plentiful crappies will do that. thanks for the tip.

i was out on the north end of Cedar Lake this weekend, and mucho plentiful was an understatement. i was out there for 90 minutes i i stopped counting after 70 fish... it was wild and crazy, but lots of fun. i did take my 10 fish limit and they weren't monsters but they do need to be reduced in numbers cause everyone was pulling them out like it was a fire sale!

it was fun and i recommend anyone with kids who are just looking for action out on the lake, Cedar is a good place to start, i didn't get any sunnies, but some of the people fishing near me were catching some decent sunfish. but definately was fun and i still have a pale full of bait and will be heading back.

iw as out on Cedar this weekend again. Fishing was slow, no sunnies this weekend, but the crappies were plentiful. it was slow fishing though at some times where it be 30 min between fish. i did also manage to pull out a carp 32 inches long, and 14.5 pounds.

thanks to the gentleman who was fishing with his son and grandson who came over to help me get that fish out of the 8 inch hole. was quite the fight for using an ultra-lite rod, 3lb test line, a green crappie jig (tear drop look) and a crappie minnow. i will be sending some pics to the WEBDUDE.
