So, the iphone and other smart phones are coming out with some pretty cool apps. lots of very interactive tools for almost everyone.
My brother showed me that his droid works very well as a GPS unit. Then I found that navionics makes iphone lake mapping.
This leads me to the question; why isn't my phone also my GPS? why should I be buying a separate unit when they can do it right on the phone? They can store the lake maps and they can triangulate your location very accurately. It's the next logical step.
How about other phone apps that are useful for fisherman? I know you can get all the weather conditions in real time. what else is out there?

Even eminent chartered accountants are known, in their capacity as fishermen, blissfully to ignore differences between seven and ten inches, half a pound and two pounds, three fish and a dozen fish. ~ William Sherwood Fox, Silken Lines and Silver Hooks, 1954
