Saw story on MN bound about a few folks that fish the Mississipi just downsteam of the powerplant near Monticello. They say the warmer water keeps the river open and draws fish in. On the show they made a camping trip out of it, but I don't know that I would want to do that. I'd like to load up a sled with some gear and just pull it down to the riverside. I am looking at google Images from the air and can see the part of the river that is just south of where the powerplant dumps the warm water. Not sure what land would be accessible. Anybody have any tips on the fishing, or access to the water?

People who fish for food, and sport be damned, are called pot-fishermen. The more expert ones are called crack pot-fishermen. All other fishermen are called crackpot fishermen. This is confusing. ~ Ed Zern, 1947
