Nice and warm out today with only a couple sprinkles. Didn't need the house so I was able to stay really mobile. Drilled about 20 holes on the lake. Finally fund some fish starting at ten feet and drilling a line of holes out to 16 ft then along the break. Lots of perch. A few nice ones but more small ones. also a couple northerns to keep things interesting.
Tip- They were finicky and a full waxie was too much. I tore it in half and started catching them very quick like. Sometimes a waxie is just to large for finicky fish. Also these fish would only come up from the bottom about 2 ft. Any further and they would turn right back around and never come back.
I've been using Euro's this year and they seem to work pretty well. Just throw a few of em on your hook and the littlest jig of the pole makes the wave or dance in the water! You probably already know that but just thought I'd throw it out there.
There will be days when the fishing is better than one's most optimistic forecast, others when it is far worse. Either is a gain over just staying home. ~ Roderick Haig-Brown, Fisherman's Spring, 1951
