The ice is nice! We currently have sixteen inches of ice on most area lakes. This coupled with the fact that there is only about four inches of snow on top of it makes for easy travel just about everywhere. The walleye fishing has been on the slow side, but those willing to move around a bit are getting at least a few fish from Shagawa and Fall lakes. Crappie and sunny fishermen are doing better on Twin. Bass and Low lakes. Small jigs tipped with waxies or eurolarvae are getting the most action.
People who fish for food, and sport be damned, are called pot-fishermen. The more expert ones are called crack pot-fishermen. All other fishermen are called crackpot fishermen. This is confusing. ~ Ed Zern, 1947
