So I have been thinking a lot lately, and posting, about winter electronic use. I have been considering buying a flasher, but keep going back to the fact that my goal is primarily to catch pike. I was thinking maybe holding off on the flasher until next season. If I bring my LCD Eagle Side scrolling finder out to the lake isn't that going to be better for my primary goal of catching pike? I mean real time info isn't going to help me a ton when it comes to big fish correct? If I could get my side scoller to tell me where the big fish are located wouldn't that be better? For example If I mark large sized fish at 7 feet in 12 feet of water, wouldn't that be much more useful? Is it going to be too cold to operate my side scroll unit?
If you've got short, stubby fingers and wear reading glasses, any relaxation you would normally derive from fly fishing is completely eliminated when you try to tie on a fly. ~ Jack Ohman, Fear of Fly Fishing, 1988
