Don't know if many folks on this board like to follow or get involved in this sort of stuff, but I thought I'd carry the message.|
Dear Conservation Leader:
The passage of the Clean Water, Land and Legacy Amendment marked a milestone for conservation in Minnesota. With it, however, comes incredible responsibilities for honoring the trust the citizens of Minnesota have provided the conservation community. To keep open the lines of communication, and to allow for continued discussion about how to provide that accountability, a coalition of conservation organizations is hosting a Stakeholders Forum on January 7, 2010 at the Earle Brown Heritage Center in Brooklyn Center from 1p.m. to 5p.m. We expect up to 200 citizen activists, agency representatives and elected officials to attend and participate. Participating organizations include the Izaak Walton League, Pheasants Forever, MN Center for Environmental Advocacy, Ducks Unlimited, Sportsmen for Change, Anglers for Habitat, Conservation Minnesota, The Nature Conservancy and others.
Please accept this invitation to attend and participate in this forum. The forum offers a great chance to hear from decision makers how conservation is proceeding and to provide feedback on priorities and accomplishments. There is no cost for the forum and seating is very limited. The forum precedes the DNRs Roundtable Event at the same location, so we are hoping attendees can take advantage of that and participate in both events. A new conservation group Anglers for Habitat will also be hosting a social event to introduce the new organization immediately after the forum in the same facility, and you are invited.
Because seating is limited, we are asking attendees to register in advance. If you plan on attending, please send an email with your name and any organizational information to Cathy Seurer (firstname.lastname@example.org) as soon as possible. The forum is coming up very soon, so please register in the next couple days. A working agenda is attached, though minor changes may be made; a final agenda will be available at the forum. Thank you very much for your continued interest in conservation, best wishes for a wonderful holiday week, and we look forward to seeing you at the forum!
