Hey guys, I just stumbled upon this website and thought I'd give it a shot. I recently sold my business, made a bit of money and now I'm looking forward to pursuing my dream as a teacher/coach and a fishing guide. I'm moving to Farmington and am getting a 19.5 ft Polarkraft with a 225 Optimax this spring. I've never fished around the metro (Plan on eventually guiding on Vermillion)and I'm looking for someone to perhaps show me the ropes. Any advise would be appreciated and perhaps we could hit the water later this year.
Thats a big question. What species are you looking for?
The metro can be a tough place to fish, the fish are there but you need to approach it a little differently and then you need to contend with the other boaters.
Let us know what you are looking for and we can try to help.
Honestly, most of the time I find myself fishing for bass to provide the kids or wife some action. Lord knows I've got enough tackle for anything that swims but lets concentrate there.
Prowannabe, Welcome to the site. You may need to see about the new guides lic. Required for guiding on rivers and several lakes around the state. I hope you can get things to work out, some guides are about ready to hang it up. To much govt. hoops, you jump thru the first just to find several more. Each costing you money, before you can earn a nickle from what you love doing, fishing.
