I ran into some 14-16 or so year old fisher'boys' at the river one day.. and they swore they were catching crappies.. told them they were catchin rock bass I guess they've NEVER caught a crappie b4 to see the differences
Told them what they were actually catching but they didn't wanna hear about it.. insisted they were catchin crappies.. I shut up after that and let them believe it.. since I know there aren't any crappies in the 100 foot round hole they were fishing in. Nice PIKE spot the first couple weeks of each season though not more than 9 feet deep in any spot that I can jig wtih a spoon. Fish actually travel underneath the slate rocks etc I believe in "tunnels" formed over the years of river flow, back to the depths in winter. By this time in July though it's been overfished as it's an easy access point along trails and the fish stop biting until the season's almost over.
Even a BAD day of fishing is better than a good day of work; paydays excluded! My Photography Website, includes sports and outdoors pictures My Photos Blog, I update my website in blog entries.
