The ice has started to add up the last two days on Lake Osakis. It has made it's way from shore out to the end of the rushes. What bothers me is this persistent light snow we have been getting since early yesterday. Might slow the ice down a little if we get to much. Took a step out from shore and knocked a chunk of ice out with my spud bar. It was about 1 inch thick now. About 3/4 inch of good ice and about 1/4 inch of 'snice'(combination of frozen snow and ice) on top. I'm sure the ice that just formed last night is thinner. I think I will wait a couple more days and then drive around the lake to see how the rest of the lake is shaping up.

Looks like the lake capped over last night as far as I could tell driving around it this morning.

Up to 2-1/2 inches thick about 15 feet out from shore. Not getting thick very fast. That's 1-1/2 inches gained in almost 2 and 1/2 days.

I understand Lake Osakis has a fishing spot for every fisherman. Is it true I could fish Walleye, Crappie, Sunfish, Northern and Bass?
Your help is appreciated. smile smiley

You are correct. Any of those species. You can also take the bass and break them down into large or small mouth. Some nice size rock bass if your interested. Don't forget perch.
