Free fishing event reminders/savings sent directly to your cell phone!
I try pretty hard to stay on top of what's going on in the fishing world. Still, never does a winter go by that I don't miss a seminar or tournament that I really wanted to attend. Most of the time it's because I get busy with other stuff and simply forget.
So I fixed my problem by setting up free reminders of local fishing events!
To my surprise a few hundred people have already signed up for service!
How does it work?
Text the word: mnfish (one word)
To the number: 69302
reminders typically are sent one week prior to event and look something like this:
("Reminder, The 3rd annual crappie catch on coon lake will be next week on Friday the 15th. Show this msg to receive $5 off event ticket! Visit website.com for more info!")
They are free and if you ever decide you don't want the messages you simply reply "stop" with your phone.
Please be aware that this service is available for free and I'm not going to allow it to be turned into a spam service. No more than a couple messages a month will be sent to your phone. Sometimes more than one event in an area is scheduled during the same week. In this situation the event reminders will be combined into a single message and delivered as one text message.
People who fish for food, and sport be damned, are called pot-fishermen. The more expert ones are called crack pot-fishermen. All other fishermen are called crackpot fishermen. This is confusing. ~ Ed Zern, 1947
