Hey folks,

I was wondering if we could explore our home page a bit. I would like to take out the "Most Recent Posts" section and replace this with a description and links to the main forum page. The reasoning in this is two-fold...

1. Almost everyone who is a member goes straight to the main forum page and posts or surfs from there (it's almost like a separate part of the site with its own menu on the left).

2. The home page, from an SEO point of view, could use some changes that would load the page faster and beef up some of the content along with some more info on the benefits of joining, etc. (shameless plugs to get people to join). smile smiley

Of course, before I make any big changes like this, I always try to get a feel for what the users want... this is your site and we all should have a hand in trying to make it better.

Had to click back & forth a few times to get it, but I don't see any reason why I would mind that change. Think I'd like it actually.

I go right to the forum page anyway... I see no reason not to change the home page...

Sounds good. I still think spell checker is a good idea.

sauzal.. go download firefox for free. It's just like using internet explorer but it automatically spell checks.

WebDude.. Sounds like a good idea w/ the homepage and all.. Only words of caution I have is this: When I have surfed the web for interesting forums in the past Some pages I come to have a homepage w/ a link to the forum. If it takes me more than a minute to find the forum I usually get angry at the site and just leave.. So I would just say to make sure it is very clear that: yes MFP does have an awesome forum AND it's located right here! Plus, look at all this other cool stuff MFP offers.

Thanks
