Took a neighbor out on the lake for the day. Fished hard all day and caught hundreds of crappies all in the 6 to 8 inch range. It was tough getting anything of any size. We could have kept a couple, but it wasn't worth the effort. We graphed a lot of fish and pretty much went through the bait. We moved to a bunch of different spots looking, but it was just one of those days. everyone I saw was catching the same stuff. Couldn't buy leeches at the bait store so we had just fatheads and crappie minnows. Listened to the Vikes game on the radio and had a great time, though... sure was a nice day to be out on the water.
Even eminent chartered accountants are known, in their capacity as fishermen, blissfully to ignore differences between seven and ten inches, half a pound and two pounds, three fish and a dozen fish. ~ William Sherwood Fox, Silken Lines and Silver Hooks, 1954
