This is what I have been finding as of the past few weeks. The eye's are moving in more at night and the fall bite seems to be getting started. Crappies have been deep. Have not been trying for bass but the top water action was good for me the past few times I was out.
yeah.. Ok. I'll be doing the night thing this weekend on some lakes and on the sippi... We'll see what happens.. Last weekend some nice eyes were being caught in nw Wisconsin by a friend of mine. He was trolling crankbaits in 6-12 ft. water.. I ate some but wasn't around for the fun part.
Fall patterns maybe started a little earlier this season huh?
I was still catching spawning gills like a month ago.. no lie.
I've been catching bass pretty regularly in shallows. Spinner baits and severel berkly gulp presentations have been hot. Northern have been hitting pretty regular this year and are starting to put on some weight. Fall bite is warming up and it looks like a good one.
The bass bite was slow for me in August. However, all of a sudden, I'm getting bit in super shallow water. I'm getting hits on a Tex rigged Fat Ika the most. I'm casting right to shore and hopping it in a couple times. Just about every hit in the last two weeks has come on the 1st to 3rd hop from the bank.
Three-fourths of the Earth's surface is water, and one-fourth is land. It is quite clear that the good Lord intended us to spend triple the amount of time fishing as taking care of the lawn. ~ Chuck Clark
