Jake and I took the kids out yesterday afternoon for some deep leadcore fishing. We only fished for about an hour and a half, but had some success in our venture. Biggest pike of the 3 we kept was 32" and we caught some eater walleyes as well. Due to a lack of a thermocline this year, the fish are currently holding anywhere from 30-40', and we've been having our best luck using bigger (5's and 7's) Glass Shad and Fat Raps. No trophy 'eyes as of yet, but they should start hitting soon once the cooler weather hits us. All-in-all a very fun afternoon on the water with the kids on one of the nicest days we've had up here in a while.
Not at all, be my guest and thanks for the heads up on the photobucket sizing link, too. Also will add that went out again today with the kids and wife and had another successful outing, 5 walleye total, 3 were keepers, 1 too small and one bigger throwback that was 20", and 5 pike between 2 1/2 and 7 lbs. The fish were absolutely crushing the plugs today and most fish had the plug sideways in their mouth with the front hook in their jaw.
