We graphed real nice hooks across from the main island, gathered in about 40 feet of water suspended just above a thermalcline at 30 feet. Couldn't get into 'em though, although we had one busted line that seemed like a huge fish.
We did find 2 nice LM Bass, up shallow off the North-side rocky point - one with plastic worm rigged whacky, and one on a spinner-bait. Just at dark, we went back to that 40 foot depth where we marked all the fish at first, and they were moved off somewhere. We did mark some scattered fish in a little shallower, and ended up with a nice LM Bass and a really nice Crappie, both in about 13-14 feet, on the bottom with redtail & jig.
If you've got short, stubby fingers and wear reading glasses, any relaxation you would normally derive from fly fishing is completely eliminated when you try to tie on a fly. ~ Jack Ohman, Fear of Fly Fishing, 1988
