Looking for any info. I am looking at buying a new Garcia 5601C4 baitcast reel and my question is do any of you have or have used one and what do/did you think about it? Thanks
I haven't tried the C4 models but last year I picked up a C5 in the 6600 size and I love it. I can't toss lures as far as my friends Revo but they are different in size and style. My folks have an old C3 (not sure what size) at the cabin, and after I put new line on it and tuned it up, it works just fine. After learning how to adjust the spool tension to the lure weight and learning how to thumb the spool, I have had little problems with backlash. Great reels for the money in my opinion.
Thanks Grum, I have been using Garcia reels my whole life (the old 300's still can't be beat)But I have only had one of there bait cast reels and I got a right hand and I fish left so I did not use it much but did love it for top water fishing. Now I have a great rod with no real and was looking at this one as it seemed to have everything I wanted and at under 100 buck fit the pocket book.
shorefisher, you'll love it, I still consider myself kinda new to baitcasters, but thats why its fun for me. I think the C4 has the higher gear ratio than the C3 so that might be better for topwater baits.
Nice cat PierBridge, what do keep a saucer of milk in your boat? You know if you keep feeding them, they'll never leave you alone
