"Fish kill caused by bacteria
Test results of a Chub Lake fish kill show it was the result of bacteria and parasites, the Carlton County Sheriff's Department said.
The Department of Natural Resources results show the parasites and bacteria are not harmful to humans, and the Chub Lake Park will reopen at 7 a.m. Friday. The park has been closed since last Thursday when large numbers of dead fish were discovered in the lake south of Carlton.
Water tests show that E. coli and coliform bacteria levels are within normal range for human use.
Even a BAD day of fishing is better than a good day of work; paydays excluded!
